Biography
The story of Anikin

The story of Anikin is short, because we recently changed name.
From the beginning our band was called Carcharoth. Back then we
played at Tyrolen in Tynnered. This was in the spring of 1997. The
members of the band were the same then as now. Kalle on bass and
vocals, Andreas and Fredrik on guitars and Mikael on drums.
After only a few months of
rehearsing our first release
saw the light of the day.
It was a onetrack-promo called
Eternal revenge. The song was
recorded for free in the studio
of Tyrolen and it was engineered by Björn Gelotte.
Cover of our first demo
This is Böna Björn Gelotte, or Böna as he is called,
is a deathmetal-guitarist in the awesome
band In Flames. In addition to that, he
has a really large beard.

After the summer we couldn´t continue to play at Tyrolen since they
changed their rules. We started looking for a new place to play at and
we found Fågeln. Fågeln is managed by KFLB (Kulturföreningen
Levande Betong). Now we have been playing at Fågeln for almost 1 ½
year.

In addition to our first live preformance we changed name for our band.
Carcharoth was a rotten name since no one could remember it or even
pronounce it. Our new name was Nemesis. And we hold on to that name
for almost a week. Until we at a local gig realized that we weren´t the
only band there called Nemesis. Now we have decided to call
ourselves Anikin. But don´t be surprised if we change name again.

In june 1999 we recorded our second demo-tape "Hymns from
Dreamland". It features the songs "Land of crystal beauty" and
"Redemption"
