The Appaloosa; a real indianhorse!

History!
The appaloosa is the oldest recognizable breed in the world.
Spotted horses are featured in prehistoric cave paintings back
20,000 years. But it was the indians of the Nez perce tribe that
made the appaloosa, what it is today. The developed horses of
exceptional quality by practicing selective breeding. The best
stallions were used for breeding and the lesser quality males
were castrated.
In the year 1877, both the Nez perce tribe and there spotted horses
was killed by the american army. The breed rised again in 1938
when a breedorganization, The Appaloosa Horse Club, started in
Moskva, Idaho.

Color and caracteristics!
The apppaloosa is an average sizes horse with most
standing 14,2 to 15,2 hands. Its a calm horse thatīs known to be
easy to train and also to love people as much as we love them.
They are inteligent and fast learning. The appaloosa can provide
a coulorful horse to meet any equine interest.
The breed has many different coat patterns, leopard, snowflakes,
blanket and more. They can also be solid, have no pattern at all
but then they must have two of the other tree characteristics; mottled
or freckled skin, hoves with verical stripes and eyes that have a white
sclera encircling the iris.

The appaloosa is used in all equestrian sport. The appaloosa isīnt
so well known in sweden yet. Here itīs most used in westernevents.

Breeding!
The appaloosa can be breed to quarter, thoroughbred and arabian.
