| 00-05-23: | Test report from Fiorano 00-05-22:
Teams Fittipaldi and Lauda were present. No times were recorded. Team Fittipaldi concentrated on servicing the cars. The 911 GT1 reverted to stock rear tires and got rid of a nasty sound and jerky low speed behaviour by substituting the final gear crown wheel. The result of these measures was astonishing. Handling and performance was greatly improved and the car went amazingly quiet. Surely a top contender for next race. Burnt out Ferrari 310B was left without repairs. Lauda performed valuable testing with the modified Viper. Modifications included a taller gearing which resulted in disappointing braking and acceleration. This along with the belief that the enhanced top speed would not be utilised in a race situation prompted a change of pinion back to stock 9 tooth gearing. MB CLK GTR shuddered during acceleration and is being fitted with rear axle bearing caps in time for Älvsborgs GP. F1 cars were tested with respct to undertray wings added for better timing triggering. All Lauda cars are in top condition. |

| 00-04-11: | After a lacklustre performance in Vendernas GP, team Lauda
are planning a major workover of the Chrysler Division of the team. Team
owner Niki Lauda said: "Zoze dam Americans don't know anyzing apout building
a raze car. My design team in ze Tirol vill straighten out zat crooked
dog of a car in no time". Changes include adaption of the chassis to a
mid-engine layout. The first revivion of the car will be tested in Västra
GP.
The team is also rumoured to have been in contact with a supplier of V12 engines. Team officials refuse to comment on this. |
