The VIDEO

Join us on board the barque "Gunilla" on her maiden voyage in the 1999 Cutty Sark Tall Ships´ Races around England and Scotland. The race begins in the French town of Saint Malo, moves across the English Channel and proceeds through the Irish Sea to the Scottish port of Greenock.

From there we continue on a so called "Cruise-in-company" on board the Norwegian full-rigged ship "Sörlandet". We visit a whisky factory and the town of Stromness on the Orkney Islands and finally end up in Lerwick on the Shetlands.

Here, we get to see a "real" viking parade and various other interesting things before the third part of the race begins.

This time we sail with the Danish full-rigged ship "Danmark" as we cross the North Sea to Aalborg on Jylland.

Together with Frederik, the Danish prince regent, we celebrate the 100th birthday of the ketch "Jens Krogh". The film ends with a colorful carneval, the award ceremony in the Kilde Park and magnificent fireworks display in the harbour.

Who will win the esteemed Cutty Sark Trophy? The trophy is a sterling silver model of the original full-rigged ship, the "Cutty Sark" and all the participating crews decide the winner by vote.

The film is almost two hours long so lean back and enjoy some wonderful weeks of sailing in the last Cutty Sark Tall Ships' Races of the previous century.

(Both English and Swedish versions of the film are available)
