This is the first Hebrew
program in the world written as a part of a college course by a university
instructor (Modern Hebrew A1 at Uppsala University in Sweden). The
program is controlled entirely by the mouse. Clicking on other objects
on the screen will make images move, phrases heard, Israeli music play
or stop and much more. The program has interactive tutorials and drills
in which the progress to the new step is possible only if all the previous
answers are correct. Language immersion is our major concern. However
the program has also formal grammatical explanations, if so desired by
the student.
After getting through all
the 23 lessons, the student should be able to hold a simple conversation
on simple topics in Hebrew. For system specifications see the on-line
manual. A program demo is available on the downloads
page. For a trial copy send
us a message.
Right-to-left utilities
If you want to write in Arabic, Farsi or Hebrew without abandoning a Western version of Windows, we provide a simple solution.
DIASPORA
is a generic right-to-left multilingual text editor based on True Type
fonts. The text typed in Diaspora cannot be printed or saved on its own.
You should paste it into your text editor (for example, Windows 95 Wordpad,
or MS Word). DIASPORA comes with Arabic, Hebrew and Farsi fonts and allows
to extract them, so you can add them to your system.
