The band was formed in the summer 1997. The four members all knew each other from earlier constellations, so it was easy to work together. Their first idea was to make music as if it was intended to be used in a motion picture, with all types of music present. Mark and Perry had played together and worked a bit on a piece called ?Action Man?. Since this was their first song, it was natural to name the movie after it and later on even the band, though the members didn?t feel they could keep up with their made up hero and hence named the band Action Boys. In fall 1997 the band performed at Hallands Nation in Lund and realized that what they did ought to be documented in some way. In February 1998 they therefore entered the studio for the first time together, and on the 14:th of April they released the album.
It took them about half a year to once again get in the right mood for songwriting. In June 1999 they started recording and the album will be released in just a few weeks now. One of the reasons it took so long was that Mark spent the entire fall in Canada and thus couldn?t participate in the role of a manager as he has often done before. Now we can only wish for Perry, Danny, Mark and Jones to hit big time!
